ANNE CURTIS excited for No other woman

After doing the romantic comedy Who’s That Girlearlier this year, Anne Curtis returns to the big screen in her most mature role to date as the other woman in the Star Cinema and Viva Films drama No Other Woman. The 26-year-old actress plays the role of Kara Zalderiaga, a beautiful and carefree socialite who is emotionally detached from love. “I play the role of Kara and siya yung other woman. It’s something na hindi pa nila ako nakikitang nag-portray, kasi lagi na lang comedy or rom-com so it’s a breath of fresh air for me so sana magustuhan ninyo yung character ko dito,” Anne shared during the No Other Woman press con held last September 21 at the Dolphy Theater inside ABS-CBN.

Anne said that when she first got offered the role, she had no hesitations whatsoever about playing the anti-heroine in the story for a change. “Kasi I think I’ve always been very open na gusto ko talaga to do something different. Kasi 14 years na ako sa industriyang ito, parang lahat na yata nagawa ko. So ito ang hindi ko pa talaga nagagawa. So I was so excited, from wearing the swimsuits to different outfits to my hair, prinepare ko talaga. At kitang-kita niyo naman yun samovie. I think people don’t realize that I’m turning 27 next year. They don’t see it kasi napaka-bubbly ko ‘di ba?So people don’t realize that as an actress it’s also my frustration to get roles that help me mature as an actress and I feel that this could be it,” she explained.

Anne admitted that she wants to follow in the footsteps of Hollywood actress Natalie Portman. “Idol ko si Natalie Portman. Ano ba mga tinatanggap na roles ni Natalie Portman ngayon ‘di ba? Yung role niya sa Closer youcould see that she really tackles mature roles na hindi mo iisipin kung bagay ba sa kanya yun? Pero ginawa niya at na-achieve. Black Swan also was super duper more mature pero I want that. I want to move forward as an actress,” she said.

Shamcey Supsup on Showbiz

Sa pagiging instant celebrity ni Miss Universe third runner-up Shamcey Supsup sinabi niya na ang invasion of privacy ang kanyang ikinatatakot sa kanyang new status. Paliwanag ng beauty queen, “Para sa akin kasi may limit to everything at hindi pwedeng lahat sabihin sa buong mundo, di ba? May mga bagay na mas magandang (isapubliko) kung sino na lang ang mga kasama alam mo ‘yon ‘yunginvolved, sa amin na lang.” 

Sa katatapos na Miss Universe pageant, sa Top 5 candidates, tanging si Shamcey ang hindi nangailangan ng interpreter. Tinanong siya sa TV Patrol Weekend kanina kung sa tingin ba niya ay dapat ay may interpreter na rin ang Philippine representative sa prestigious contest.  “’Di na. Kung kumportable ka naman mag-Ingles okay na ‘yon. Masokay ‘yon kasi diretso na.”  

Aware din ang beauty queen na hindi lang ang kanyang buhay kundi pati na rin ang kanyang pamilya ang magkakaroon ng pagbabago. “I think sa Papa ko malaki ‘yung pagbabago. Dati mahiyain po ‘yan, hindi po ‘yan nagpapa-interview ngayon sabi ko kay Papa, ‘Artista na si Papa.’ Pero ngayon po we really haven’t had the time and spend time with each other because I’ve been really busy, pero I hope nothing would really change in our relationship. It’s more of how people see us now or how people treat us that’s different pero how we ourselves as a family, nothing would change.”

Marami raw plano ngayon si Shamcey pero firm siya sa kung ano ang kanyang gustong gawin. “Ang dami ko pong pangarap I don’t think a lifetime is enough to do everything that I want to do pero what’s sure is that I wanna be an architect, I wanna teach. And everything else, I can fit in between.”  Bilang architect, sinabi ni Shamcey ang kanyang opinyon kung ano ang dapat baguhin sa bansa. “Hindi mismo ang building, it’s more on urban planning it’s the macro scale.” Ang kanya naman umanong advocacy ay ang pagkakaroon ng de-kalidad na edukasyon. “Free and quality education for everyone who wants it. Sana.” 

Shalani Soledad is engaged

MANILA, Philippines - Valenzuela City councilor Shalani Soledad has received a diamond ring from no less than Pasig City Rep. Roman Romulo.

This was confirmed by Romulo’s sister, Agriculture Undersecretary Berna Romulo-Puyat, who was in a tete-a tete with reporters at the sidelines of her agency’s budget hearing at the House of Representatives plenary.

Romulo-Puyat was reacting to media reports that Soleded was seen wearing a diamond ring. She told media she texted her brother if that meant she was engaged. 

At that exact time, her brother called back and within earshot of the media, confirmed that he did give Soledad with a diamond ring. He even asked: “Masama ba?”

ABS-CBN News later asked Romulo if the ring is a diamond ring or simply a ring with a diamond but Romulo could not give an answer. A gift of a diamond ring is usually taken to be an engagement ring.

Nikki Gil reveals that she and boyfriend Billy Crawford are saving up already for their future

Nikki Gil dnot appear annoyed at all when asked about the recent issue that her relationship with boyfriend Billy Crawford is “boring.” Nikki related, “Ang kuwento niya (Billy) sa akin, may nag-comment daw na parang ang boring ng relationship [naming].” She did not deny that the comment hit a nerve in Billy, but he later on realized that it does not matter to him what others think about their relationship.

“Siguro sa sinasabi n’ya sa tingin ng tao very boringkami. Kailan ba naman kami huling napag-usapan[ng media]? Bukod sa wala naman talaga kaming malaking problema talaga kapag may minortampuhan, ‘di namin inilalabas, ‘di na namin pinalalaki. Kami lang naman ang nasa relationshiphindi ibang tao,” Nikki explained.

When directly asked if she thinks their relationship needs to have some excitement, the singer-actress answered, “Sa paningin ng tao, in terms of the showbiz standard of what an interesting relationship might be like [maybe yes], but ‘yun na nga eh, mas gusto ko naman na boring kami pero alam mong sa altar ang patutunguhan namin kesa sa maingay kami pero afterilang buwan, maghihiwalay na rin kami. Andi Eigenmann reveals the father of her child

Isang madamdaming entry ang isinulat ni Andi Eigenmann sa kanyang blog noong September 4, Sunday. Dito inilahad ni Andi ang kanyang pangarap na magkaroon ng magarbong kasal at maging nanay sa edad na 29-anyos, ang kanyang saloobin sa maagang pagbubuntis, at pagkakaroon ng pag-asa sa kabila ng ‘di inaasahang pangyayaring ito at pag-asang sana ay tulungan siya ng ama ng kanyang dinadala kapag isinilang na niya ito, si Albie Casiño.

Sinabi ni Andi na kahit na hindi man nangyayari ang lahat ng ating hinahangad sa buhay, ang mga bagay naman ay magiging maayos sa huli. “The key I guess, is to not expect things way too much. This will only lead to our hearts being bruised and then scarred. I've had my fair share of heartbreak and pain, and I must admit, they didn't go so well at all,” pag-amin ng aktres. 

Pagdidiin niya, hindi siya isang masamang babae at sa anumang ginagawa niya, sinisikap niyang maging mabuting tao. At hindi niya pinagsisisihan kung bigla siyang nabuntis sa kasagsagan ng kanyang career. “I never intend to come off as a bad person, in any way whatsoever. And so this state I'm in is something I shouldn't and wouldn't be ashamed of.”

Meryll Soriano files annullment

After four years, actress Meryll Soriano finally puts a legal end to her civil marriage with actor bernard palanca. According to PEP's Aug. 5 report, Willie Revillame's daughter filed a petition for annulment of their marriage in branch 225 of regional Trila court of the quezon City Municipal Hall, under the case number Q-11-69478, with judge Maria Elisa Sempio Diy, who now acts as presiding authority over the case.

The couple actually separated in 2007, some five months after they were married on Sept. 8, 2006 at the San Juan municipal Hall s officiated by San Juan Manyor JV Ejercito, a friend of Palancas.

The relationship bore Elijah, their three year old son who is turning four this month. More than a year after her separation with Palanca, the actree got into a relationship[ with another actor Koem Bascon.

However, in a 2010 Manila Bulletin report, Soriano related that she and bascon ended their year olod relationship, citing her [plans to study in a fahion school in london the following year as the reaosn.

In a different MB report two months ago, bascon said that he and Soriano were trying to rekindle friendship they opnce had.  " Maayos naman ang paghihiwalay. It's better na magpansinan after kasi hindi naman buong buhay mo may kaaway ka. Hindi porket nagkahiwalay kayo ay yun na ang end  ng lahat," he said.

ANDI EIGENNMAN IS PREGNANT

"Yes it's true, my daughter is pregnant," a tearful Jaclyn Jose, Andi's mom, admitted in an interview with ABS-CBN's "TV Patrol" on Wednesday, June 29.

The Filipino actress and model who turned 21 last June 27, is exactly 18 weeks and two days pregnant.

Though feeling extremely hurt with what happened to her daughter, Jaclyn fully supports Andi's pregnancy.

"Hindi madali pero kailangan kong tanggapin... wala namang ibang tutulong sa kanya kundi ako at ang kanyang pamilya," she said. "She decided to keep the baby and naging proud naman ako sa anak ko. Mahal namin yan eh. Mahal ng pamilya ko si Andi."

She added that her faith in the Lord gives her strength in this trying time.

"Ang una mong pupuntahan simbahan. Mananalangin ka. Ibibigay mo na lang sa Kanya lahat; sasabihin mo na 'Ama ikaw na bahala hindi ko kaya to. Kung ano man ang desisyon Mo, tatanggapin ko.'"


Who's the father?

But when asked about who the father of the baby is, Jaclyn refused to give a name.

"First boyfriend niya. Wala na sila 'nun. Iniwanan siya nung nabuntis siya. I don't want to talk about him anymore. Wala akong hinihingi sa kanila ni ayaw ko sila makita," Jaclyn said firmly.

Who's Andi's first boyfriend? Netizens immediately speculated that it's Jake Ejercito, son of former President Joseph Estrada by Laarni Enriquez.

In fact, when news of Andi's pregnancy broke out,  Andi and Jake trended in Twitter worldwide.

Jake's denial

Jake, however, immediately denied on Twitter that he is the father of Andi’s unborn baby and that he is her first boyfriend.

"I'd just like to ask everyone not to jump into conclusions and misinterpret what has been said. I am not Andi's first boyfriend. Let us just respect and pray for her, her baby, and family," he said.

Meanwhile, Jaclyn hopes that the public will understand Andi's situation; that the people will spare her daughter from further judgment.
