MANILA, Philippines – It's official: TV host and actress Toni Gonzaga, 31, and filmmaker Paul Soriano, 33, are engaged.

In an episode of The Buzz Sunday, February 1, Toni and Paul confirmed the happy news. Paul said that they will marry this year.

"It's been what, 7 and a half years, right? You know, she's been such a great part of my life, the best blessing I've ever received...we're engaged," said Paul

Toni Gonzaga on a Fight issue with Mariel Rodriguez

Kanina sa The Buzz ay nagsalita si Toni Gonzaga sa isyung sinabi umano ni Mariel Rodriguez na isa sa mga dahilan kaya umalis umano siya sa Happy Yipee Yehey ay dahil hindi na naibalik ang friendship nila ni Toni after nilang magkaroon ng samaan ng loob last year. Paliwanag ni Toni, “I learned about this I think Wednesday (September 21) nung na-publish‘yung kay Ricky Lo na article. And then I texted Mariel right away, sabi ko, ‘what happened?’ kasi before she stopped attending Happy Yipee (Yehey) we had a good talk,” paliwanag ni Toni. 

Idiniin pa ni Toni na maayos talaga sila ni Mariel. “Actually up to now we are okay.” Hindi naman ikinuwento pa ni Toni kung ano ang napag-usapan nila ni Mariel pero sinigurado niya sa lahat na wala silang anumang ‘di pagkakaunawaan ngayon ni Mariel.  “There is no issue between me and Mariel. Mariel and I are okay, we are on speaking terms.Hindi na mauulit ‘yung akala n’yo dati na maymisunderstanding, may rift. Wala pong ganon ngayon. Kung ano po ‘yung nangyari d’yan at ano po ‘yung nabasa natin, I don’t think I can answer for Mariel. But for myself, I will not say anything against Mariel dahil sa halos limang taong kasama ko si Mariel, she has been a sister to me and like what I always say to her and I told this to her kaming lahat sa Happy Yipee Yehey we will always wish you the best and we wish you well.”

After releasing five chart-topping albums in the past years, Toni Gonzaga is now preparing for her first major concert, Toni at 10, to be held at the Araneta Coliseum on September 30. The singer-actress admitted that she is both excited and nervous at how the public will react to her anniversary concert. “Siyempre I’m expecting na sana maging mainit yung pagtanggap sa akin ng hindi lang sumusuporta but also yung mga Pinoy audience na tumatangkilik ngconcert scene dito sa Pilipinas. Sana makapunta sila at masaksihan nila yung celebration ng aking ika-sampung taon sa industriya because this concert will not just be a show na kantahan, actually it’s more like a pelikula. Kasi isa siyang journey na mula sa pinagmulan hanggang sa mga pinagdaanan para sa kung saan man tayo ngayon. Yung concert is going to be a journey and a story in itself so masaya yung konsepto nung show,” she explained.

Toni admitted that although she knew there was a concert being planned since late last year, she still had her doubts as to whether it would push through. “Before the year started, there were already talks about this. But I was thinking at the back of my mind, siguro hindi magma-materialize because it’s such an ambitious dream and masyadong ambitious yung proyektong yun para maisakatuparan and I’m just really thankful na June of this year, na-finalize na nila and they would make it happen. So yun, medyo nag-sink in sa akin na after that hanggang sa nagtuloy-tuloy na nga yung promo,kumuha na ng sponsors kaya nag-sink in na talaga,” she explained.
