Danita Paner refutes insecurity issue with TV5 newbie Nadine Samonte

Pop Rock singer turned TV5 "Teleserye Princess" Danita Paner is not worried about other actors joining the network. She likewise refutes allusions to insecurity on her part especially with former GMA-7 contract star Nadine Samonte joining the Kapatid network's roster of talents.

" Natutuwa pa nga ako kasi dumarami na kami sa TV5," shared Paner in an interview with PEP, June 28.

"Kumbaga, mas marami rin yung chance na makatrabaho mo ang ibang artista, diba? Mas lumalaki yung pamilya, mas dumarami ang mga kapatid ko ko sa istatsyon," she aded. " Wala yung ganyang isyu na maiinsecure ka sa pagpasok ng iba."

The daughter of the former basketball player manny Paner and acterss Daisy Romualdez, the younger Paner seems already clued in on inner workings of the industry.

" Hindi naman ako nag-aalala na mawawalan ako ng project kasi nakita na rin naman ang TV5 kung paano ako magtrabaho," said paner, adding, "ibinibigay ko naman ang lahat ko sa bawat show na ibinibigay sa akin."

Paner is thankful of TV5's continued support of her burgeoning acting career particularly after having already made her mark in the network's first teleserye, "my diver sweet lover."

"Dati kasi parang nagaalangan akong pumasok sa acting talaga. Sabi ko dati, banda lang ako. Gusto lang dati music." Paner recounted.

Paner stars in TV5's upcoming fantasy series "Bangis", an adaptation of Carlo J Caparas" Matatalim na pangil sa gubat.  "Bangis" which also stars Oyo Sotto as the animal hunter.

Transformers : Dark of the Moon 3 (2011)

On the whole, La Beouf summarizes his experience in making "Transformers: Dark of the Moon " as such : "On this one we had a firmer foundation at the outset and as crazy as the transformer movies get - and we do have injuries here and there and some really tough ones to deal with - i think in the end the movie is the best movie we have made and also was the greatest journey in terms of my enjoyment of it actually on the set. "

In parting, he declares  having "more fun" doing the movie in general, adding that, " i think Michael  has also calmed down. My relationship with him has really changed and we have such strong friendship now and it's nice to have that with your director. So it was a very positive experience for me.

‘Falcon’ intensifies into tropical stor

MANILA, Philippines—Tropical Depression “Falcon” intensified into a tropical storm on Wednesday, but the weather bureau said the new weather disturbance was not expected to make landfall in the country.
As of early evening Wednesday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration has not raised any storm warning signal in any part of the country.
But Pagasa said Falcon would bring occasional rains over the country, and these could become widespread over the eastern section of Southern Luzon, the Visayas and Mindanao. These could also trigger flashfloods and landslides.
Falcon has so far remained on its track, and is headed for southern Japan. There is a possibility that it may leave the Philippine area of responsibility by Saturday.
As of 2 p.m. Wednesday, Falcon was located 370 kilometers east northeast of Virac, Catanduanes.
It was moving west northwest at 19 kilometers per hour and packed maximum sustained winds of 65 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 80 kph.
By Thursday morning, it is forecast to be 380 km east northeast of Casiguran, Aurora and by Friday morning, it is expected to be 360 km northeast of Basco, Batanes. It is forecast to be 740 km north northeast of Basco, or 40 km southwest of Okinawa, Japan by Saturday.
Incessant rains over the past few days have contributed to the rise of floodwaters in Mindanao, displacing thousands.
Flooding has also led to the cancellation of classes in Luzon.
Tropical Depression “Egay” and floods due to persistent rains caused an estimated P316.12 million in agricultural damage, according to a consolidated report from the Department of Agriculture.
The DA based the initial estimate on reports from three regions (X, XI, ARMM) from five provinces (Bukidnon, Davao del Norte, Davao del Sur, Davao City and Maguindanao).
“The loss is mainly due to damaged crops (rice, corn, and high value crops) and lost/dead livestock and poultry,” the DA said.
The DA said that as of June 21, the total crop area affected had reached 17,864 hectares, with 13,304 hectares or 74 percent with no chance of recovery.
Losses from dead or lost livestock and poultry amounted to P747,000.
Rice area affected covers 11,584 hectares resulting in a loss of 3,919 metric tons of palay valued at P66 million.
But this volume represents only 0.11 percent of the national production forecast of 3,490,015 tons in the third quarter (July to December).
Most of the affected rice area (86 percent) is in the seedbed and vegetative stage. Direct losses from inputs cost around P126 million, the DA said.
Corn area affected totaled 6,105 hectares resulting in a production loss of 6,214 tons corn valued at P81 million.
The volume of lost corn comprises only 0.26 percent of the third quarter national production forecast of 2,356,460 tons. Corn areas affected were mostly in the seedling and vegetative stage (69 percent) resulting to lost investment of P32 million.
The DA singled out the province of Maguindanao as the area that suffered the biggest loss. Agricultural damage in the province was estimated at P277 million.
The DA said the majority of lost produce (3,723 tons rice and 5,023 tons corn) came from this province.—With a report from Riza T. Olchondra

Lady gaga is bald.

Lady Gaga is known for her colorful collection of wild wigs, but for a recent performance on Britain's "The Paul O'Grady Show"--ironically of her Born This Way track "Hair"--she wenthairless, startling fans by sporting a boldly bald new look. Perhaps after rocking every outrageous hair style and color imaginable since her hair-raising rise to fame in 2008, Gaga felt there was nothing left to do that could shock her fanbase except wearing no hair at all.

And the stunt worked. The spectacle of seeing a glam icon so associated with crazy hairdos belting out "I'm as free as my hair" while appearing totally hair-free was a shocker, and it wasn't long before "Bald Gaga" was a top trending topic on Twitter.
Well, Gaga wasn't entirely hair-free for her pre-taped "O'Grady" performance: Her piano was blanketed in synthetic hair, and from the neck down she was swathed in a dress that appeared to be fashioned out of turquoise Muppet follicles. And about halfway through her song, she reached for a matching blue pageboy wig, which was sitting atop her piano, and positioned it on her bare head.
While concerned fans feared that Gaga had pulled a Britney and shaved her scalp on a whim, a closer look at her "O'Grady" footage indicates she just wore a bald skullcap on the show. (Calls to Gaga's record label were not returned at press time.) But only her hairdresser knows for sure.
What do you think of Lady Gaga's bare new look?

Honey and Clover : Drama Review

H&C (Honey and Clover) is not your ordinary type of anime nor I can say that this one is a Shojou type one. ( Not your ideal love story {the fairytale/puppy loves/passionate..no no no }
Now, I’m watching it’s anime version with 34 episodes (i think :p).
I can say that I like more the Jdorama. (because of ikuta toma and mukai osamu.. hahaha)  Anime will always be exaggerated on acts. It’s really funny. Hagu-chan was too small and I don’t get it. In the drama , the height is normal.. hahaha.. so bothered about the height….*laughs*..:p
The Story line was great. I wonder how the writer of the story made this one. What inspired him/her ? Or is it a real life experience? The love story also don’t focuses on only one couple.. Actually it is not a couple rather triple or quadraple.. there are so many twist-and-turn / up-side-down on the love stories there. You will learn a lot through their experiences. But the bottomline is : Unrequited love but unconditional love. I don’t believe to much on happy ending. (haha sorry i’m not in love.. :p )We can’t get all we want so don’t expect too much. Pain will always be normal in anyone’s life. Each and every character has something to contribute to make the story more interesting.
Fave character : Yamada, Ayumi :)
why : Yamada is a student also in the same university majoring in pottery. She’s in love with Mayama. The sad thing here the love she has for this guy can’t be given back to her the same way. Mayama loves somebody who is older than him. He works on her architecture firm. Mayama is an architecture student by the way. I admire her bravery to love. She struggled just to express her love for Mayama. Every scene she has with him , i cried.  My favorite scene is when Mayama carried her at the back cause she’s drunk.
That time she confesses unconciously to mayama and called him “BAKA” or idiot while walking. Way to crazy huh.. haha.. On the other hand, Yamada was loved by Nomiya-san (mayama’s colleague) but doesn’t know how to express this because it is obvious how yamada is inlove with mayama. (but i’d go for nomiya :p haha )
Takemoto kun story was like the same thing but the story goes around with hagumi and morita. I like the scene where he needs to go soul searching for discovering what he really want to do in life…
takemoto has the most quotes in the series..he ws like the narrator of the entire series.. haha here’s my favorite quote from him:
“I’d been wondering whether there is a meaning to a failed love… Is something that disappeared the same as something that never existed? But now I now there is—-There was a meaning right here.. Because despite the heartbreak, i’m still glad that i fell in love with you”
Takemoto Yuta (Honey and Clover)
I ♥ H&C folever!!!!!
ps: my love for four leaf clovers started since I watched this„,2 years ago..haha

2011 Lunar Eclipse

The first total eclipse of the Moon of 2011 occurs this Wednesday evening, 15 June 2011, and it will be the longest lunar eclipse in over a decade. However the views from the UK (and Europe) will be constrained by the fact that the Moon will be below the horizon for much of the eclipse, and will rise fully eclipsed, or in some cases even coming out of eclipse. It’s still worth having a look though: just try to find somewhere with a very low and clear SE horizon, as this will be the direction in which the Moon will rise, and it will be in eclipse only while it is VERY low (only a few degrees above the horizon).

Dallas Mavericks defeated Miami Heats

* The Mavericks were admitted to the NBA in 1980. Dallas had previously played host to the Chaparrals in the now-defunct American Basketball Association but they moved to San Antonio in 1973 and became the San Antonio Spurs.
* The Mavericks were initially placed in the Western Conference's Midwest Division and failed to make the playoffs in each of their first three seasons.
* They made the playoffs six times in seven seasons from 1984 and won their first divisional title in 1987, but went through a lean streak in the 1990s, failing to reach the playoffs for an entire decade.
* Boosted by the signings of Dirk Nowitzki, Michael Finley and Steve Nash, they ended their long drought and returned to the playoffs in 2001. They have made them every year since.
* In 2004-05, they moved to the newly created Southeast Division and enjoyed even greater success after Avery Johnson took over as head coach.
* In 2006, Dallas won the Western Conference for the first time but lost the NBA Championship final to Miami Heat 4-2 after leading 2-0.
* The Mavericks won the divisional title the next season and again in 2010 before winning a second Western Conference championship this season.
* Rick Carlisle, who won an NBA Championship in 1986 as a player for the Boston Celtics, took over as head coach in 2008.
* During the 2010-11 regular season, the Mavericks finished third in their conference with 57 wins and 25 losses.
* They beat the Portland Trail Blazers 4-2 in the first round of playoffs, the defending NBA champion Los Angeles Lakers 4-0 in the semi-finals and the Oklahoma City Thunder 4-1 in the Conference final.
* Owned by Mark Cuban, who purchased the team in 2000.

Puppy on a Pillow

A Brown Pup

Actually, I can't think of anything to blog right now. I saw this picture on tumblr. Tumblr made me see so many things. Now I'm thinking of doing a photo essay also in this blog site. It's not merely for entertainment only. This pup reminds me of our black puppies now. They're dying one by one and we don't know what to do. We can't do anything. sigh.... I hope even one can survive.

NBA Finals Game 3 : Heats vs. Mavs

The Heat will need to regroup and resume their winning ways in Game 3.

The Dallas Mavericks took care of business during the first two games of the NBA Finals, leaving South Florida with a split and now heading home to host the next three games against the Miami Heat.  Dallas' 2-game split is even more impressive when you factor in that they lost the first game and had to come back from a 15-point deficit in the final minutes of Game 2.
Most of the time you would be hoping that the Heat could do the same thing that their opponent did, leaving town with a split and re-gaining home court advantage, but that isn't possible in the Finals.  Why?  Because for some reason the NBA still uses the 2-3-2 schedule in the final round.  I don't know one person that prefers that to the 2-2-1-1-1 setup that is used during the first three rounds, but who knows if the league will ever wise up and get with the times.

So with that being the case, Miami now will try to get out of Texas with a pair of wins, otherwise they will come with a very difficult task in front of them.  Either way, assuming neither team sweeps the 3 games in Dallas, someone will be returning to South Beach with an opportunity to end the series and become champions next Sunday night at the AAA.
For now the focus is on Game 3, which takes place tonight at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, the same place that the Heat celebrated their 2006 NBA championship.  They hit the road with what I'm sure is a very intense mindset after the way the last game ended.  Miami has shown that they can control the game against the Mavs so hopefully Erik Spoelstra and his staff will make the proper adjustments to continue their solid play against the double screen's and smaller lineups that caught them off guard at the end of Game 2.
