Justin bieber nominated for best new artoist at Black Enetrtainment TV awards

The African-American music community has been "bieberized".

teen charmer Justin bieber scored nomination on Wednesday from the Black Enetrtainment television (BET)awars in New York.

The 16 year old teen idol, whose music proves to have transcended genres, is nominated for best new artist at the 2010 BET award while music's power couple Jay-Z and beyonce' lead the nods with five and four, respectively .

Dominated by African- American singers and actors, Bieber's nom came as the suprise of this year's line up. reuters reported that the "baby" singer is considered a major cross over artist.

" Bieber has crossed the color boundaries the same way the hip hop crossed the boundaries the other way for a number of years" said Stepeh Hill, BET's president of Music programming and Specials to reuters.

hill further said Bieber's music has rhythm and he makes the type of music our audience likes."

Expect Bieber legions of Tweeners to cher for him when the awards niuight culminates on June 27 in Los Angeles
